Volunteers support Central Kansas Medical Center and St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in a variety of ways. We are privileged to have such a dedicated group of men, women, and teens that give their time and talents so that others may benefit. The caring seeds they plant blossom in the kindness provided to our customers and staff.
Volunteers serve CKMC at the information/escort desk, Gifts from the Heart Gift Shop, Heartland Cancer Center, Golden Belt Home Health & Hospice, as Eucharistic ministers and for many other departments, projects, and services.
The SJMH Auxiliary has had many accomplishments serving patients, fundraising, and supporting staff. The Auxiliary actively participates in the annual Angel Tree Project, events for Doctor's Day and Hospital Week. They operate the SJMH gift shop, provide nursing scholarships, employee dinners, equipment and furnishings for the hospital, and monthly tray favors for the patients.
Annually, our volunteers serve more than 20,000 hours.
Anyone interested in becoming a member of the volunteer services program should call 620-786-6194.
