CKMC's admitting process is important to ensure that you have a good experience. The information requested is needed to verify the accuracy of your address and health insurance information. Some of the questions may seem odd or repetitive. Be assured we are asking to verify information as required by Medicare and/or your insurance carrier.
Cards and flowers will be delivered on a regular basis by the CKMC volunteers. Items received after your discharge will be sent to your home or returned to the florist as needed.
The Gifts from the Heart Gift Shop, located in the main lobby of CKMC, offers a variety of items ranging from personal items to exciting baby gifts. The goal of CKMC's Food and Nutrition Department is to provide wholesome, nourishing, and well-balanced meals in a clean and safe environment that will aid in your treatment and recovery. CKMC makes every effort to provide nutritious meals prepared to your satisfaction.

For your convenience, vending machines are located outside of the cafeteria. For a nominal fee a hot meal can be provided on weekends. Please check with your nurse for this service. We offer a wide variety of choices to satisfy your visitors dining needs. The cafeteria is located on the basement level of the hospital.
The clinical dietician and certified dietary manager are members of the healthcare team who care for your nutrition needs. The dietician is available to answer questions, provide personalized diet consultations (24-hour notice required) and/or arrange for an outpatient appointment after discharge.

If you have brought an electric razor, hair dryer, or other small appliance, please give it to a member of the nursing staff to have a safety check performed by our Plant Services Department. These items cannot be used until checked for potential fire and electric shock hazards.
We ask that you bring only the essentials, such as toiletries, robe, pajamas, and slippers. Please label your belongings. This will increase the likelihood of retrieval if an item is misplaced.
If you have any valuables that cannot be sent home, please ask a nurse to place these items in safekeeping. The hospital cannot assume responsibility for items not placed in safekeeping. Itemized information regarding your valuables will be noted on your chart.
This program was designed to help us continually provide excellent customer service. Although there are many facets to this program, one of the most important is our patient survey card.
When you visit the hospital as an outpatient, the admissions personnel may give you a short survey card and request that you complete it. After you complete your card, please drop it in one of the wooden suggestion boxes located by the patient elevator on every floor.
You may be asked to participate in a phone interview to evaluate your satisfaction with our care. A person from The Jackson Organization may telephone you following your inpatient discharge or outpatient test to ask a few questions regarding your experience at CKMC.
Your feedback will be used to thank employees who have done a good job and to identify ways we can improve our service. We are grateful for your participation.
In order to accommodate an increase or decrease in patients you may be asked to move to a different room. Decisions to move you will be based on need. If at anytime you are dissatisfied with your room accommodations, please contact your nurse.
CKMC is committed to providing the safest and healthiest environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Smoking is not permitted in any area of the medical center or related buildings. There are designated smoking areas on the grounds. Please ask any staff member for the location of these areas.
